Jason discovered his love for painting in the late 90’s during a brief stint as a student of philosophy at Lafayette College. Almost immediately, he experimented with texture, and took a sculptural approach to working with oil paints. The rest is a sordid history full of chunky paint applied with kitchen utensils and palette knives.

He has lived and painted in many places, including: New York City, Philadelphia and San Francisco; New Orleans, Paris, Prague and Paonia, Colorado. His affinity for cities that begin with the letter P are likely due to his love for his parents and his obsession with potato chips.

A few years ago, Jason took time off from the brush to write a speculative climate novel about jellyfish, immortality and the end of the world.

After a bout with Cancer in 2022, he returned to oil painting with a new passion. His hope has been to generate many thick pieces to showcase his love for this beautiful planet, and his internal yearning for non-dual consciousness. Since those are lofty goals, he will settle for doing his best to make art that adds more beauty to the world.

He has a degree in Literature from UC Santa Cruz. His artwork has been exhibited in New York City, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Santa Cruz, California- where he currently lives.
